9th Torino Flash Festival
Animation and Flash Games

Competition Announcement

Organisers
The 9th Torino Flash Festival is organised by the Associazione Culturale Azimut with the support of the Piemonte Region, the City of Torino, the Chamber of Commerce of Torino, Circoscrizione 1, the CRT Foundation and in collaboration with Topix, Wi–Pie, Environment Park, Museo del Cinema, Tex97 and MultiDAMS.

Objectives
One of the priorities of the Torino Flash Festival is to create a space that allows creators of animation to dissolve the link between digital creations and their distribution via internet websites, and to bring this new art form to the attention of a public that is unfamiliar with the internet and unaware of its creative and artistic potential.

Sections of the Competition
The ninth edition of the Torino Flash Festival is divided into three sections:

Pure Flash
dedicated to all animations created exclusively with the use of Flash. Participants can submit more than one work to the 9th Torino Flash Festival.

Animation Mix
dedicated to all digital 2D animations created with the use of any software. Participants can submit more than one work to the 9th Torino Flash Festival.

Flash in Action
Interactivity and play are essential characteristics of digital media, in communication as much as in art. In particular, the videogame is a new form of expression, which allows experimentation with language, models of narration, design, technologies, viral marketing and in which it is possible to develop new forms of creativity. In this context, the Flash in Action section was created, in collaboration with the Development Program of the TOP-IX Consortium. The category is dedicated to: Games, ADSGames, Interactive Animation, Experimentation in Generated Art, works that utilise the Java programming language.

Registration
Registration is free for every section of the competition.

It is possible to enter more than one work; to register, simply fill in all parts of the registration form, available from the website www.flashfestival.it, attaching the work in SWF format or providing a link to where it can be downloaded in any format.
